Where I live: I was born and still live in Milan, the city of fashion, of the Scala theatre, of the famous Duomo with its pure marble and 135 spires, of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper (yes, the one in the The Da Vinci Code… no, it’s not in Paris, they have the Mona Lisa there).

The kind of books I write: Subtle, meaningful and funny stories. I’ve written picture books and novels. I like to write about the big issues facing human beings, set into everyday life. The beauty of diversity, the value of friendship and loyalty, the meaning of life and death.
Languages my books have been translated into: My books have been published in Canada, USA, UK, and South Korea.
My favourite foreign children’s writers: J.K.Rowling, Philip Pullman, Brian Selznick, Patrick Ness and Marie-Aude Murail.
