chiaralossaniAuthor: Lossani Chiara
Where I live:I live on the bank of the Naviglio Grande, the great canal designed by Leonardo da Vinci that, lock after lock, links Milan with the other towns of the Lombard countryside, in the House of Tortoises, together with Tino and Marta, the two pussycats Lavander and Pearl, Estéban the turtle and the two doves living under the roof: Flight and Crossing…

The kind of books I write: Picture books to tell children about great painters and amaze them with the Greek myths. Teen novels about teen issues such as obesity, parent/children relationship, friendship, written in a fresh style with plenty of slang expressions. Historic books set during the Italina Renaissance and Middle Ages, in Iraq at the time of the Babel Tower, in the Burma led by generals…

Languages my books have been translated into: Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Portuguese (Portugal and Brasil), French, Dutch, English (UK and USA), Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Taiwan).

Awards and Prizes: White Ravens 2006 and 2011 with Stregata da un Pitone (Bewitched by a python) and Vincent Van Gogh e i colori del vento (Vincent Van Gogh and the colours of the wind), Premio Gigante delle Langhe 2008, third prize with All’ombra della Pagoda d’oro (In the shadow of the golden Pagoda), Premio Castello 2006 and 1998 with Una torre contro il cielo (A tower against the sky) and Il viaggio di Abar E Babir (Abar and Babir’s jouney).
