Taverna Chiara

Where I live: I live in Alessandria, the regional capital of Piedmont, which holds a wealth of art and history: the renowned Citadel, vast squares, churches, eighteenth-century palaces.  The city rises on the plain between the rivers Tanaro and Bormida, between the hills of Monferrato and the Ligurian Appennines mountain chain: a varied, fascinating territory, known for excellent food and wines.

The kind of books I write: I love to invent, to seek out and find stories with children of nursery and primary-school age (5-10), and use narrative as a tool to bridge the gap between teenagers and their parents. I have published short stories for readers aged 8-13.

My favourite foreign children’s writers: Roald Dahl, Michael Ende, Christine Nostlinger, Aidan Chambers.
